What do I need to open an account?

All you need is your ID!  We will also have you sign a Membership Account Application.  In compliance with the USA Patriot Act, METRO has established a member verification procedure.  In order to safeguard your accounts, we will ask that you provide us with a photo ID and signature which will be stored with your account information.

METRO is a community credit union serving portions of Cook, DuPage, Lake and McHenry Counties.  You are also eligible to join us if the following applies to you:

  • You are employed by one of our Sponsoring Employer Groups
  • You live in the boundaries of our community charter
  • You are an immediate family or household member of an existing METRO Federal Credit Union Member,
  • You work within the boundaries of our community charter
  • You volunteer within the boundaries of our community charter
  • You worship or attend school within the boundaries of our community charter
  • You have a business within the community charter and/or regularly conduct business in the local community

New Account Membership can be completed with an application in the lobby, through the drive-thru, email, fax, or by DocuSign. You may contact us at 847-670-0456, ext. 1, to make an appointment to secure your time slot with one of our staff.

New Loan Applications can be completed by applying online, completing an application in the lobby, through the drive-thru, email, fax, or by DocuSign.
